Rise Up! For the Next Generation |
|
Every generation of girls and women in hockey has been supported by someone who helped create an opportunity – a parent, coach, teammate, volunteer, official, mentor or role model who made them believe there was a place for them in the game.
Now, it’s our turn to Rise Up! for the next generation.
Grab a stick and a puck or ball. Get creative. Share who helped you rise and why you’re rising for the next generation. Then challenge others to do the same.
Because when more of us Rise Up, more girls can see what’s possible for them in hockey.
It's simple: make your move, share your why and challenge someone next.
Start your video with the action.
Grab a stick and puck or ball and show us what you've got.
Juggle it. Dangle it. Flip it. Lift it. Pass it. Shoot it. Score it. Create a trick shot. Get your teammates involved. Or show us something we haven't thought of yet.
Do it on the ice, in your driveway, in the dressing room, at school, at work or anywhere you can safely make your move.
You don't need elite hockey skills. Keep it simple, make it fun or get creative.
There's no perfect move. Just make it yours.
After your move, look to the camera and tell us why you rise
Recognize someone who helped create an opportunity for you in hockey - a parent, a previous coach, current teammate, volunteer, official, mentor or role model.
Then tell us why you're choosing to Rise Up for the generation coming next.
Try:
Example: “My mom rose up for me by coaching my Timbits U7 team. Now, I'm rising up for my younger sister so she hockey continues to be a place for her.”
Make it personal. Tell your story in your own words.
Keep the wave of support for women’s and girls’ hockey moving by challenging three people to Rise Up.
“I'm challenging [NAME], [NAME] and [NAME] to Rise Up!”
Challenge a teammate. A coach. A parent. An athlete. A friend. A sibling. A coworker. Someone across the country.
Anyone can Rise Up.
Share your video on social media using #HCRiseUp and tag the people you're challenging so they know they're up next.
Also tag @HockeyCanada so we can see how you're Rising Up
For every eligible #HCRiseUp post, BFL Canada will donate $20 to the Hockey Canada Foundation’s Assist Fund, up to $100,000, to help remove barriers and create more opportunities for women and girls to experience hockey.
