Hockey Canada, Ebay.Ca Offer Hockey Fans Chance to Win Game-Worn Items From 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship

CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada and ebay.ca launched the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship auction on Monday, January 1. Up for auction are Team Canada’s game-worn jerseys, gloves and helmets.

The jerseys up for grabs are Team Canada’s red jerseys, worn exclusively by Canada’s 2011 National Junior Team at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, N.Y.. These game-worn jerseys were worn during the Canada vs. Czech Republic preliminary round game on , and the helmets and gloves are worn throughout the tournament.

Canada’s roster includes returning players Jared Cowen, Ryan Ellis, Brayden Schenn and Calvin De Haan, as well 2010 NHL first-round picks Brett Connolly, Erik Gudbranson, Quinton Howden, Ryan Johansen, Jaden Schwartz and Mark Visentin, and many more future NHL stars currently representing Canada at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship.

All proceeds from the sale of game-worn items will go to the Hockey Canada Foundation, to assist with the funding of national development programs, national teams, and initiatives that promote the sport at all levels of the game.
