Won the Canada Cup with Team Canada in 1976
Was a member of Team Canada for the 1972 Summit Series
Team Canada was 4-0-1 with him in the lineup during the 1972 Summit Series
Played 1,040 NHL games with Montreal and Winnipeg from 1967-83
Recorded 439 points (106 goals, 333 assists) during his NHL career
Won eight Stanley Cups with the Canadiens (1968, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979)
Served as captain in Montreal from 1979-81
Was the second-last player from the Original Six Era to play in the NHL
A member of the “Big Three” in Montreal with Guy Lapointe and Larry Robinson
Played in the 1979 Challenge Cup (Soviet Union vs. NHL All-Stars)
Was general manager of the Canadiens from 1983-95
Won two Stanley Cups as GM of the Canadiens (1986, 1993)
Named CPHL rookie of the year with the Houston Apollos in 1966-67
Served as captain of the Montreal Junior Canadiens in 1965-66
Was part-owner of the QMJHL’s P.E.I. Rocket (originally based in Montreal) from 1999-2013
