Ray Whitney Will Not Play for Canada Due to Injury

QUEBEC CITY -- Steve Yzerman, General Manager of Team Canada for the 2008 IIHF Men’s World Championship, announced today that forward Ray Whitney will not be joining Canada at this year’s Championship due to a recurring ankle injury.

Team Canada’s roster now stands at 25 players – 23 players on the roster, and two alternate players.

Canada opens the 2008 IIHF Men’s worlds on May 2nd versus Slovenia in Halifax.
